2019-Sep-23 : EU research network COST Action “Circular Cities” holds working meeting in Finland
Katrin Bohn took part in a working and field study meeting in Hämeenlinna, Tampere and Forssa as part of the COST Action “Circular Cities” (fully titled: COST Action 17133 Implementing nature-based solutions for creating a resourceful city). During 4 days, more than 60 participants from all EU countries discussed how to foster cooperation and research around urban metabolism, focussing on food, water, resource recovery and the built environment.

Katrin is one of the two management committee members representing Great Britain in this COST Action. The network aims to establish an interdisciplinary platform for connecting city planners, architects, system designers, economists, engineers and researchers from social and natural sciences testing the hypothesis that ‘a circular flow system that implements nature-based solutions (NBS) for managing nutrients and resources within the urban biosphere will lead to a resilient, sustainable and healthy urban environment’.
